Video Quick Take: Cisco’s Venkat Krishnamurthy on Digital Transformation of Customer Experiences

Todd Pruzan, senior editor for research and special projects at Harvard Business Review, recently sat down remotely with Venkat Krishnamurthy, vice president of engineering at Cisco, to talk about how Cisco’s transformation journey changes the customer experience. Digital business transformation has different meanings to different organizations. Cisco defines digital as developing platforms and business models to build customer relationships and find innovative niches for value-added subscription services. This definition of digital recently led Innosight to recognize Cisco as one of the 20 companies with the highest impact on business transformations over the past decade. Todd: Venkat, thank you so much for being with us today. Venkat: Thank you for having me. It’s great to be here. TP: Venkat, how did Cisco use strategic transformation to reposition itself? VK: OK, that’s a great question. I will answer it in a couple of ways. Number one, Cisco always looked at inflection points. These are places where market transitions happen, and we have recognized what these transitions are and how to react to them. I will give you two or three instances.
