Trends such as artificial intelligence and digital transformation have created plentiful and intriguing work opportunities throughout the tech world, sparking a greater need to draw women into the field. “Generative AI will change how we live, work and play even more than the internet did,” says Sheila Jordan, senior vice president and chief digital technology officer at Charlotte-based Honeywell. “It’s going to be as pervasive as Googling. It will enrich our lives and make us smarter.” Such sweeping language about the changes happening in technology as well as society as a whole confirms the importance of having women and diverse leaders designing and using these increasingly powerful technology tools. Jordan made her comments as part of a panel discussion hosted by the Charlotte Business Journal and Kingsmen Software at Kingsmen’s Camp North End office, looking at efforts to draw more women into the growing field.
