The web and many software applications as we know them today wouldn’t have existed without the pioneering work done by IBM. One of the pioneers at IBM who would then go on to found the innovative WSO2 was Sanjiva Weerawarana. WSO2 Founder and CEO Sanjiva Weerawarana. WSO2 WSO2 is a digital transformation company that provides a suite of application development and identity and access management (IAM) technologies, available as open source or SaaS, to create digital experiences quickly, easily and securely. WSO2 was founded in 2005 by Sanjiva Weerawarana, Paul Fremantle and Davanum Srinivas. This founder’s journey is based on my interview with Weerawarana, CEO of WSO2. In all likelihood, Weerawarana would not have left IBM if the company was more nimble in bringing its ground-breaking research and open source solutions that he worked on to market sooner.
