Alvin Toffler a very well know futurist mentioned quite early in the 1970’s aptly stated, “The illiterate of the twenty-first century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn”. We are in the first half of the 21st century and this is happening. In the past two decades, the evolution of required skills has been shaped by rapid technological advances, the automation of routine tasks, and the increasing complexity of the work environment. While technical skills related to digital transformation, AI, and big data have become indispensable, the importance of soft skills —such as problem-solving, adaptability, and emotional intelligence—has only grown. The velocity of change in the required skills has created an imminent need for reskilling and upskilling the workforce.
