Ramona Cannabis Co. owner presents plans to expand business by 10,000 square feet

Ramona Cannabis Co. plans to add marijuana cultivation and manufacturing space to its 1,400-square-foot building at 736 Montecito Way. Ramona Cannabis Co. owner Greg McCluskey shared plans for expanding his marijuana enterprise by adding a 10,000-square-foot greenhouse building with Ramona Community Planning Group members March 2. The farmhouse-style building would be added to his existing cannabis shop at 736 Montecito Way. The San Diego County Board of Supervisors had given the green light to backcountry dispensaries to expand by up to 10,000 square feet without an environmental review when they removed the sunset dates from the dispensaries’ permits in October 2021. McCluskey said he wants to add 6,000 square feet of marijuana cultivation space and 4,000 square feet of manufacturing space to his 1,400-square-foot building. Features of the building would include an employee break room and locker room in addition to an extraction room where cannabis products are made and a packaging room. The greenhouse is designed with opaque glass to conceal its activities from outside viewers, and the structure would be protected with a 24-hour guard and multiple security cameras, he said.
