Mayor Greenberg promises to improve local business environment at GLI luncheon

Mayor Craig Greenberg believes Louisville needs a new approach to economic development. At a gathering on local business leaders held at The Olmsted on Wednesday, Greenberg said the city has too many obstacles that make it hard for companies to create good-paying, career path jobs in the community. "Right now, there is simply too many barriers and too much red tape between a good idea and a great start," Greenberg explained. "There are too many barriers between a desire to invest in our city and a grand opening. Heck, there is too much time between submitting a plan and getting a permit to act on that plan. "When you approach the city about planning, about starting a business, about growing your business, about an initiative that your nonprofit organization wants to work on, there should be no question that your city government is on your side." Greenberg shared his remarks at the first installment of Greater Louisville Inc.’s 2023 Capitol Connection series, presented by Norton Healthcare.
