Improving Patient Services Through Digital Transformation In Auditing

Sunderland Royal Hospital has implemented MyAudit, an electronic auditing system that has replaced their previous paper-based auditing system. This new system has brought about several benefits that have improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the hospital’s auditing process. The previous paper-based auditing system had several limitations, including the difficulty of tracking and analysing data, identifying trends, and measuring compliance with industry standards. The paper-based system was also time-consuming and prone to errors, leading to delays in addressing issues and potential risks. Benedict Okundaye, Domestic Supervisor, said “With the National Standards (of Healthcare Cleanliness), a lot of the requirements need you to be responsive and not having a digital platform put in place like we have with MyAudit, it would have been difficult (to adhere to the standards)”. He along with the staff at the hospital have noticed the benefits of having MyAudit as “it became easier and more effective for us to carry out audits”.
