IDA Ireland said the new design was issued to recognise the changes in world business and the shift towards digital technologies. The new design features a new logo, new colour scheme and new tagline. Instead of the former three hexagons in dark green, three dots in “vibrant green” now represent the Irish shamrock. This shade of green is also featured in the IDA’s new tagline, ‘Invest in extraordinary’. The company said the tagline represented Ireland’s position as “one of the most attractive destinations for foreign direct investment”. For the brand name, IDA Ireland selected a bespoke typeface, Sonas Sans, designed by Irish typographer Bobby Tannam. ‘Sonas’ is Irish for good fortune, prosperity and happiness.
