Hexagon India and TEXMiN, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad collaborate to drive digital transformation in mining

NEW DELHI: Hexagon, an industrial IT firm, on Friday, announced a collaboration with the Technology Innovation in Exploration & Mining Foundation (TEXMiN), IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. This partnership was marked by the launch of the Center of Excellence (CoE), inaugurated by Padma Bhushan Dr. V K Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog, Government of India. This collaboration aims to leverage the latest technological advancements to position India as a leader in mining technology by driving innovation in the mining industry; focus on environmentally responsible and resource-efficient practices; and create new opportunities for technological advancement related to process automation, cost optimisation, governance frameworks, and the adoption of new technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency. The collaboration aims to facilitate the establishment of robust research and development (R&D) facilities and programs, empowering students, researchers, and industry professionals to explore and innovate with next-generation technologies in mining, mine mapping, monitoring, geospatial analytics, and surveying.
