New guidance has been launched with the aim of developing digital skills across the adult social care workforce in England. Last week the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) launched the Adult Social Care Digital Skills Framework and also rebooted its What Good Looks Like guidance specifically for adult social care. “Digitising social care is an essential journey that will help the 1.5 million people working in the sector to improve the lives of the millions of people” Nina Blackett The government said that these two documents would set a standard for digital transformation across the sector. The new Adult Social Care Digital Skills Framework is intended to provide some structure in which skills can be developed. The free resources can be used by social care employers to help with planning staff training, or by individuals for their personal development. It covers seven key themes, including using and managing data, how to use technology for person-centred care and supporting a culture of good practice in using technology for personalised care.
