Image: RCR Wireless News Ericsson noted that this partnership establishes a foundation for the future integration of 5G-Advanced Swedish vendor Ericsson and Middle East telco Ooredoo Qatar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate digital transformation efforts for enterprises and public sector entities in Qatar. In a release, the Nordic vendor noted that the agreement focuses on developing industry-tailored 5G solutions, including private and dedicated 5G networks for key sectors such as manufacturing, airports and oil and gas. Supported by a dual-mode core and advanced radio technologies, this collaboration also introduces mission-critical solutions for public safety, digital airspace and railway networks — ensuring resilient performance through network availability, multi-network integration, robust security and optimized Quality of Service (QoS), priority and preemption mechanisms. In addition, the partnership between Ericsson and the Qatari telco will explore sustainability initiatives, using 5G technology to minimize environmental impact, decarbonize industries and contribute to a more sustainable digital ecosystem.
