CAIRO – 16 February 2023: Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Amr Talaat said Thursday that the Egyptian government has taken massive strides to a secure smooth digital transformation. He made the remarks during his participation as a guest of honor in the opening session of the “Government Services Forum: A Dialogue on the Future of Government Services”, as part of the World Government Summit (WGS) 2023 grouping global experts and prominent business leaders from the private sector. Talaat said Egypt is foremost among Arab countries in terms of fixed internet connection speed, according to a press release by the ICT ministry. Egypt also ranked A at the GovTech Maturity Index (GTMI); an important tool for helping countries understand their classification on the public sector digital transformation trajectory, thus assisting practitioners in designing new digital transformation projects, the minister said. Meanwhile, the minister said a number of initiatives and programs that have been carried out to build capabilities in the various technological sectors.
