Daystar University Awarded 110M, to lead EU-funded project on digital transformation in science

Daystar University, a leading private Christian university in Kenya, in collaboration with great partners in Kenya and Tanzania, has secured a prestigious European Union grant under the Horizon Europe framework!. The grant, worth €799,896.69 (approximately Kshs 109, 000, 000) will run FOSTERing Digital Transformation of Science in Sub-Saharan Africa (FOSTER) project for a period of three years beginning on January 1, 2025 – December 31, 2028. Making the announcement, Dr. Caroline Ayuya Muaka, Acting Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovation, Commercialization, and Entrepreneurship (RICE) said; “This is a significant milestone for Daystar University and our research community”. This landmark achievement positions Daystar University, who will be the principal investigator, as a leader in driving digital transformation research in science across sub-Saharan Africa. Other institutions in the partnership include; Garissa University (Kenya), University of Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania), Eastern and Southern Africa Management Institute- ESAMI (Tanzania), St. Paul’s University (Kenya), International School of Social Business Studies, Ceije, SLOVENIA, University of Amsterdam, Netherlands and the European Policy Development and Research Institute, SLOVENIA.
