Grants serve as a valuable resource to transform the campus experience Judith Gibson-Okunieff/ Daily Collegian (2016) Since its inception in 2017, Campus Climate Improvement Grants have helped honor the unseen labor of service workers on campus, host the “We Are For Freedoms” art exhibit and develop 3D-printed models to make STEM content widely accessible. Every year, students, staff and faculty can submit project proposals that seek to address the climate and community of the University of Massachusetts. The grants can range from $250 and $2500 and can be meant for a single semester or whole-year project. Grants from the past year include a disability speaker series, a UMass chapter of Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science and an LGBTQIA+ mentor program.
