THE Cebu IT BPM Organization (CIB.O) is bringing back the industry’s signature event, “the 2023 Digital Transformation Summit,” in a face-to-face format on May 26, 2023, and it aims to spearhead the continued forward growth of the Information Technology – Business Process Management or IT-BPM industry in the province, following the challenges of the global pandemic and Super Typhoon Odette (Rai). This was revealed by the summit’s committee chairman, Darwin John Moises, in a media briefing in Cebu City on Thursday, May 4. Despite the challenges, Moises said the industry, based on data from the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (Ibpap), continues to grow in terms of headcount and revenue, contributing more to the country’s economy and employment. He added that the growth of the IT-BPM industry in Cebu and the Visayas region will result in more job openings and opportunities for local talent. “That’s our impact in our little way to contribute to keeping the country resilient and strong,” Moises said.
