Stacked Auto Haus opens for business in Sterling

A new automotive storage facility — one aimed at vintage and performance car buffs — but also open people with other valuable vehicles — has started doing business in Sterling. It’s called Stacked Auto Haus and it’s located on Shaw Road in Sterling . The Stacked team has taken a 24,000 s.f. space and turned it into a climate-controlled, 24-hour surveillance secured facility with a lobby, members lounge, and more. The Burn first reported on Stacked last July. There are several car clubs in the area and many car aficionados in the area. With limited space in a home garage, the thinking goes that an off-site facility such as Stacked will prove popular. Images: Stacked Auto Haus Stacked offers several levels of memberships — each with additional perks and services. They also work with local vendors for additional services such as vinyl wraps and window tinting. Housing for motorcycles and boats is also available at Stacked Auto Haus. There are, of course, other car storage facilities scattered around Loudoun County. One of the highest profile projects was the proposed Gas Haus facility that was planned for the Ashburn area. It was supposed to include a restaurant, bar, member’s lounge, […]

Real estate agents say they can’t imagine working without ChatGPT now

CNN — If you came across a four bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home listed for sale recently on a quiet cul-de-sac in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, you might not think twice about the online listing. It included typical real estate descriptions like “ideal for entertaining” and “ample space for relaxation.” But JJ Johannes, the realtor for the home, created the description in less than five seconds by typing a few keywords into ChatGPT, a viral new AI chatbot tool that can generate elaborate responses to user prompts. It’s a task, he said, that would otherwise have taken him an hour or more to write on his own. “It saved me so much time,” Johannes told CNN, noting he made a few tweaks and edits to ChatGPT’s work before publishing it. “It’s not perfect but it was a great starting point. My background is in technology and writing something eloquent takes time. This made it so much easier.” ChatGPT passes exams from law and business schools Johannes is among the real estate agents experimenting with ChatGPT since it was released publicly in late November. Some residential and commercial agents told CNN it has already changed the way they work, from writing listings […]

The staffing service moved from 883 Main St. to 16 Bird St. in October 2022. The ribbon-cutting signified the move as well as Allison Blackwood’s succession to the leadership position, she said. She was joined at the ceremony by Mayor Elinor Carbone, Northwest CT Chamber of Commerce membership chairman D.J. Murphy, Economic Development Director Rista Malanca, and other AEI staff members. Even before AEI, Jeff Blackwood founded Blackwood Associates Inc. in the late 1970s, as “your traditional headhunting firm,” his daughter said. “It went through a couple versions and had been a franchise, and then he bought it out and made it his own." In 1992, he started AEI with a few partners, to complement the recruiting business. Alternative Employment Staffing, as it is often […]

If the U.S. government wins the antitrust lawsuit it filed last week and the Alphabet Inc. GOOG 1.56% internet company is required to spin off technology for brokering ad deals across the web, the separated businesses would be valued at tens of billions of dollars, according to ad and media-industry executives.
