Cannabis delivery businesses getting ready to open in Connecticut

This is a carousel. Use Next and Previous buttons to navigate Cherry Punch cannabis plants grow in a room with yellow light at the CTPharma cultivation facility in Rocky Hill, Connecticut, on December 13, 2022. There’s Uber Eats, Instacart and Amazon among many other services that bring food or goods to your home. Soon, the home delivery business in Connecticut will be expanded to cannabis. The state, which just recently allowed a handful of retail cannabis stores to open, has so far issued eight provisional licenses for cannabis delivery services . Amanda Ostrowitz, who runs a company called Slap Ash, has been granted one of those licenses, as well as two retail cannabis licenses. How her business will work is between an “Uber Eats model” and a “Domino’s model.” Uber Eats, and similar delivery services, don’t actually prepare any food. They pick up the food where it’s prepared and bring it to your door and, on the surface, it would seem like a similar delivery model for cannabis products would make sense. ChatGPT is on its way to becoming a virtual doctor, lawyer, and business analyst. Here’s a list of advanced exams the AI bot has passed so far.

ChatGPT is making progress towards a host of professional degrees. ChatGPT is a chatbot launched by OpenAI that uses generative artificial intelligence to create its own content. The bot has been used to generate essays and write exams, often passing, but making mistakes, too. Insider rounded up a list of the assignments, quizzes, and tests ChatGPT has passed. Wharton MBA Exam ChatGPT would have received a B or B- on a Wharton exam, according to a professor at the business school. Wharton professor Christian Terwiesch recently tested the technology with questions from his final exam in operations management— which was once a required class for all MBA students — and published his findings . Terwiesch concluded that the bot did an "amazing job" answering basic operations questions based on case studies, which are focused examinations of a person, group, or company, and a common way business schools teach students. In other instances though, ChatGPT made simple mistakes in calculations that Terwiesch thought only required 6th-grade-level math. Terwiesch also noted that the bot had issues with more complex questions that required an understanding of how multiple inputs and outputs worked together. Ultimately, Terwiesch said the bot would receive an B […]

MAPA study options to address traffic for busy North 30th street corridor: ‘a lot of it comes down to safety’

Copy This Embed Code: Ad OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The sound of traffic flying by on 30th street is disturbing businesses and residents in the north Omaha community. "Semi-trucks are doing just as fast most of the time as the cars," said Roger Bennett, owner of Rogers Hair Design. For Bennett, speed is a big concern. "I am just worried mostly about my older customers that have a really slow reflex time because it just happens so fast," Bennett said. Bennett also lives there, experiencing the noise and speed, constantly. "Yeah, the big trucks, especially the cattle trucks, and things that come by, shake the house, quite a bit," Bennett said. In a final report Friday, the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) released feasible options to help traffic, but it’s important to note, nothing will immediately come from these options. "Nothing has been designed, this is all just sort of a feasibility level study and the next steps would be dependent on elected officials," said Court Barber, transportation planner for MAPA. It puts an emphasis on safety. "A lot of it comes down to safety, but it is also about making sure that we are moving goods […]

Is A Recession A Good Time To Start A New Business?

Is A Recession A Good Time To Start A New Business?

While economic downturns are a time of hardship, they could also be a time of opportunity. Here are … [+] getty With tech layoffs making the news, it’s fairly likely that 2023 wouldn’t be a year in which it is easy to find a comfy tech job. While this would undoubtedly be a time of hardship, it would also be a time of opportunity. Here are the major threats and opportunities for new startups during a market downturn: 1. Capital: Availability of capital is usually a problem during market downturns. Most startup funds become more conservative and generally speaking invest less in new projects. Even worse for early-stage startups – the risk tolerance of investors might also fall, which means that the available capital for new projects will naturally concentrate on a few “safe” bets. That said, during economic downturns the usual government policy is to increase spending in order to battle the recession. This means that business loans along with other forms of fiscal stimulus (subsidies, etc.) could become more easily accessible. 2. Costs: While capital might be a bit more difficult to find, you might need less of it in order to survive. During a recession, the […]

DoD releases Small Business Strategy

DoD releases Small Business Strategy

WASHINGTON (AFNS) — The Department of Defense released its Small Business Strategy Jan. 26. The strategy promotes a strong, dynamic, and robust small business industrial base by focusing on reducing barriers to entry, increasing set-aside competitions, and leveraging programs to grow the industrial base. “From manufacturers providing the critical parts that we need for our arsenal – to technology companies developing innovative systems and capabilities – small businesses are vital along the entire spectrum of the Department’s needs,” Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks said. “Reducing barriers and creating more opportunities for small businesses will allow us to expand, innovate, and diversify, increasing our warfighter advantage, strengthening our supply chains, increasing competition in our marketplace, and growing our economy here at home.” Small businesses make up 99.9% of all U.S. businesses as well as 73% of companies in the defense industrial base, and last year small businesses were awarded over 25% of all DoD prime contracts. As the economic engine of our nation, small businesses create jobs, generate innovation, and are essential, daily contributors to national security and the defense mission. This strategy will help DoD harness the full potential of small businesses through three objectives: implement a […]
