But we will do everything we can to make it happen,» says Mykhailo Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation. What will the unit do? The WINWIN AI Center of Excellence (the name of the division) is among the priorities of the division: development of a national strategy and program for investing in research and development of AI solutions; creating the «best legal environment in the world» for the development of artificial intelligence; growth of AI startups by 50% annually (minimum); developing the status of the state with the largest number of AI specialists in Europe. There are separate plans for 2025 — and here, interestingly enough, the creation of a «national LLM model for public services», as well as the integration of artificial intelligence into applications «Action» and «Mriya». Who is the head of the team and what specialists are they […]

With the applied focus Purdue is known for, the program also includes a well-rounded graduate business education, albeit with a technology bent. The program covers areas such as finance and accounting, human resources, leadership and marketing. Science, technology, engineering and math education and research are part of Purdue’s institutional DNA, making the university uniquely qualified to develop […]

Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation faces funding crisis as USAID halts support

The USAID logo. Illustrative photo Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation will need to find a new donor to replace the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which is halting funding for projects in Ukraine for at least three months. It provided funding for different initiatives starting from the development of the “Diia” state app to AI regulation strategies, according to Forbes Ukraine. On 3 February, US billionaire Elon Musk said Trump’s team was working on shutting down USAID, claiming that the agency was beyond repair. The next day, the US president appointed Secretary of State Marco Rubio as head of the organization. According to two former ministry employees who spoke anonymously with Forbes, USAID was one of the largest donors to the Ministry of Digital Transformation. The ministry received at least $40.5 million from USAID, compared to nearly four times less from the EU, which contributed $11.5 million across four programs. In 2023, the Ministry of Digital Transformation’s most active donors were USAID, the EU, Germany’s BMZ, and Sweden’s SIDA. In total, the ministry received $63.3 million from these sources for 9 out of 18 projects. The Ministry of Digital Transformation declined to specify what percent of its projects […]

CEO’s model for digital transformation: Reimagining your business

CEO’s model for digital transformation: Reimagining your business

A true business transformation—enabled by digital possibilities—requires a vision that only the CEO can provide In my previous article, “Dissecting digital disruption: the imperative of digital literacy for today’s CEOs,” I explored how the rapid pace of technological evolution is reshaping industries globally. This piece serves as a sequel, focusing on how corporate executives can practically lead digital transformation within their organisations. We live in what many now call a BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, and Incomprehensible) world, where the pace of technological advancement is exponential. Every 18 months, computing power doubles, data generation skyrockets, and global connectivity intensifies. These forces are disrupting traditional business models, creating both immense challenges and unprecedented opportunities. However, many leaders fail to recognise the magnitude of these changes until it’s too late. Reimagining the business model: The CEO’s mandate In these disruptive times, business models that once thrived in more stable environments are proving inadequate. While businesses are adept at handling continuous or incremental change, they often falter when faced with episodic or disruptive change. The reality is that disruptive changes require more than incremental adjustments—they necessitate the creation of entirely new business models. Reimagining your business model starts with a CEO-led initiative that […]

Goodbye digital transformation, hello AI-first business transformation

Goodbye digital transformation, hello AI-first business transformation

The intelligence revolution means we need to challenge our fundamental assumptions about how we think about our business, how we work, and how we measure success. Credit: JLco Julia Amaral / Shutterstock Perhaps we got digital transformation wrong this whole time. Instead of focusing on the transformation part, we did a lot less transforming and a lot more digitalization. Instead of seeing digital as a new paradigm for our business, we over-indexed on digitizing legacy models and processes and modernizing our existing organization. As a result, most businesses remain saddled with complexity, department silos, and old ways of doing things. The rise of artificial intelligence is giving us all a second chance. We can choose to use AI to do the same things faster and better. Or we can make the right things more efficient while also charting a new path and harness this technology to truly transform into AI-first businesses. Digitalization is not transformation Remember when the digital revolution promised to transform businesses? The reality for most businesses was much less revolutionary. We did not really invest in digital transformation, instead we did digital reformation – when you reform, you modify, but you do not reinvent. This only […]
