Bucyrus Telegraph-Forum Statewide award recognizes Mid-Ohio ESC for its career readiness efforts MANSFIELD — The Mid-Ohio ESC was recently awarded a 2023 Business-Education Leader Award for Excellent Business Advisory Councils by the Ohio Department of Education in collaboration with Lt. Gov. Jon Husted. The Business-Education Leader Awards for Excellent Business Advisory Councils recognize two, three and four star-rated Business Advisory Councils throughout the State of Ohio for their exceptional work building strong partnerships to instill professional skills for future careers and coordinating experiences for students. Mid-Ohio’s Business Advisory Council convenes education and business leaders to engage in dialogue, build trust and identify strategies that transform the student learning experience. It is Mid-Ohio’s goal that the ongoing, intentional collaboration will result in a more responsive education system based on regional economic drivers and needs and the expansion of locally focused career readiness learning experiences for students. The activities provided by the Ready for Hire after-school and summer learning program, a collaboration with the SPARC Council, is an example of such an activity.
