Is There An Opportunity With Hello Group Inc.’s (NASDAQ:MOMO) 48% Undervaluation?

Source: Shutterstock Does the January share price for Hello Group Inc. ( NASDAQ:MOMO ) reflect what it’s really worth? Today, we will estimate the stock’s intrinsic value by taking the forecast future cash flows of the company and discounting them back to today’s value. One way to achieve this is by employing the Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model. It may sound complicated, but actually it is quite simple! We would caution that there are many ways of valuing a company and, like the DCF, each technique has advantages and disadvantages in certain scenarios. For those who are keen learners of equity analysis, the Simply Wall St analysis model here may be something of interest to you. What’s The Estimated Valuation? We’re using the 2-stage growth model, which simply means we take in account two stages of company’s growth. In the initial period the company may have a higher growth rate and the second stage is usually assumed to have a stable growth rate. To begin with, we have to get estimates of the next ten years of cash flows. Where possible we use analyst estimates, but when these aren’t available we extrapolate the previous free cash flow (FCF) from […]

New council offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

New council offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

A host of opportunities ranging from new jobs, combating climate change and introducing more affordable housing are among key priorities for a council that will launch in the spring to cover the whole of North Yorkshire. Counting down to the new council With just nine weeks until the launch of the new North Yorkshire Council on 1 April, staff across all eight councils that will merge to create the new authority are working hard to make sure that the best services are provided and all the services you use continue as normal. This means you will see minimal change – for example, your bins will be collected, you will be able to access your library, visit your leisure centre and contact your local planning department. The people who provide the services you value will continue to do so. And from 1 April, contacting your council will be simpler. There will be a single website and one phone number to call. There will be a main office in each area, where you can talk to locally-based staff, and a network of local access points is to be established in towns and villages. Equal opportunity based on qualification, Not sexual orientation

Equal opportunity based on qualification, Not sexual orientation

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY MUST BE BASED ON QUALIFICATION, Not sexual orientation There are groups of people on this planet whose lifestyle and ideology differs from that of ‘mainstream’ society, including morals, values and ethics, which all go hand in hand. A person with good ethics is invariably morally upright, … well, in most cases. In almost all instances, persons with good values get their guidance from the Bible and similar literature. The Good Book will be the reference for this article. You are the manager of an IT firm hiring new talent for the R&D department with ads being posted. Among the applications there is an applicant who describes his/her sex as ‘neutral’, but whose qualifications and experience exceeds all other applicants. This is the first time that a ‘neutral’ gender person is seeking to join your work team. What would you do ? Faced with this situation it would be best to bring all applicants together and give them a simple project to see how they would work as a team and during the process observe how they accomplish the task. That activity would determine those with leadership qualities and other useful traits, allowing management to attract the best […]

The Ready-Made Meals Section, Big Opportunity for Supermarkets

The Ready-Made Meals Section, Big Opportunity for Supermarkets

The new year begins with high expectations, but the outlook is still unclear due to concerns about what might happen with inflation. With this in mind, consumers want to save on their spending without having to sacrifice convenience, leaving supermarkets with the task of satisfying these two needs that are now basic for their customers. In this area, supermarkets have an excellent opportunity to capitalize on in-store prepared food service, as assured by the report “The Power of Prepared Foodservice in Retail 2022,” released by the FMI-Food Industry Association . According to the report, a quarter of consumers (25%) are buying more prepared meals in-store than a year ago, surpassing last year’s and 2019’s dollar and unit sales volume. The analysis suggests that supermarkets can compete for consumers’ grocery dollars by maximizing value, nutrition, and convenience while communicating these benefits to consumers. “At a time when consumers are rethinking where to spend their grocery budget, retailers need to demonstrate the value of supermarket food service and exceed expectations,” said Rick Stein, vice president of fresh foods at FMI. FMI’s “The Power of Prepared Foodservice in Retail 2022” report provides a detailed roadmap on where retailers can focus to succeed […]

Iovance Biotherapeutics now in a position to finally realize lifileucel’s opportunity – Piper Sandler

Iovance Biotherapeutics (IOVA) now in a position to finally realize lifileucel’s opportunity – Piper Sandler Iovance Biotherapeutics (NASDAQ: IOVA ) was raised to Overweight from Neutral by Piper Sandler analysts on Friday, who stated that it finally feels like the story is "maybe out of the woods." In a research note to clients, the analysts also lifted the firm’s price target on the stock to $14 from $11 per share. The analysts said the firm has now come around to the view that "the BLA [Biologics License Application] filing will get done this quarter, lifileucel has a good likelihood of approval later this year and that the initial launch could surprise to the upside." "The basis for our view on potency, filing and approvability largely stems from a holistic view of prior cell therapy approvals/potency discussions, the amount of time that has passed since the issue first surfaced and the strength of lifileucel’s clinical data," explained the analysts. "Secondly, as we’ve anecdotally spoken to potential lifileucel users, we think near-term expectations leave clear room for upward revisions." The analysts concluded that the firm believes Iova is now in a position to finally "realize lifileucel’s opportunity in post-PD-1 melanoma over […]

Star Wars Missed Opportunity Would Fix Franchise's Most Annoying Problem

Star Wars Missed Opportunity Would Fix Franchise’s Most Annoying Problem

Image credit: Legion-Media Since A New Hope first hit the big screen in 1977, Star Wars has been a huge hit. The sheer number of spinoffs is a testament to that – and Disney’s purchase of the rights to the franchise was an indication that there is more to come. So far, there are very few complaints about what Disney has done. And Andor has been a huge success, adding a gritty realness to the show and having genuine appeal for audiences of all ages. As of yet, though, they still haven’t addressed the most annoying problem with the Star Wars franchise – the fact that viewers have been stuck in the same short timeframe for so long. While delving a little deeper into the short-term history of the build-up to the original trilogy is a worthy cause – and has brought some iconic moments to our screens – a movie or show focusing on the old republic would expand the timeline of the franchise and provide an insight into what happened to bring about the situation which we’re now pretty well clued up on. This is partly down to the approach that Disney took when they first acquired […]

Mateusz Wlodarczyk | Nurphoto | Getty Images The U.S. Justice Department on Tuesday filed its second antitrust lawsuit against Google in just over two years. It’s the latest sign the U.S. government is not backing down from cases against tech companies even in light of a mixed record in court on antitrust suits. Google shares were down 1.3% on Tuesday afternoon. This lawsuit, which is focused on Google’s online advertising business and seeks to make Google divest parts of the business, is the first against the company filed under the Biden administration. The department’s earlier lawsuit , filed in October 2020 under the Trump administration, accused Google of using its alleged monopoly power to cut off competition for internet search through exclusionary agreements. That case is expected to go to trial in September . Google’s advertising business generated $54.5 billion in the quarter ended Sept. 30 from Search, YouTube, Google Network ads […]

DOJ Sues Google, Seeking to Break Up Online Advertising Business

The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Google, accusing the tech giant of anticompetitive behaviors that ‘severely weaken, if not destroy competition in the ad tech industry.’ A Google spokesman said the lawsuit ‘attempts to pick winners and losers.’ Photo: Al Drago/Bloomberg News The Justice Department is seeking the breakup of Google’s business brokering digital advertising across much of the internet, a major expansion of the legal challenges the company faces to its business in the U.S. and abroad . A lawsuit filed Tuesday, the Justice Department’s second against the Alphabet Inc. GOOG 1.90% unit following one filed in 2020, alleges that Google abuses its role as one of the largest brokers, suppliers and online auctioneers of ads placed on websites and mobile applications.
