Air France has just launched a plush new long-haul business cabin on one of its Boeing 777-200ER planes complete with sliding doors and redesigned seats. (CNN) — The airline debuted the impressive 48-seat business class cabin, first announced last year, on a flight from Paris to New York on January 20. The new seats can be converted into a flat bed measuring almost two meters, and also come with a sliding door to create "a totally private space." Air France has introduced its new 48-seat business class cabin. Entertainment amenities come in the form of a 17.3-inch 4K high-definition entertainment screen, as well as noise-reducing headsets, and a Bluetooth connection allowing passengers to use their own headphones.. While all of the seats have direct access to the aisle, those in the center are fitted with a central panel that can be lowered when passengers are flying together. The new cabin will be available to business class travelers heading to New York, Rio de Janeiro and Dakar, Senegal this winter. Small businesses across Long Beach will soon be able to apply for grants to help offset costs incurred by the recent rise in property crimes and vandalism, city officials announced Friday. The city has allocated $350,000 from the Long Beach Recovery Act for the Visual Improvement Grant program. The $1,500 grants are available for local businesses that were affected by crime or vandalism on or after Oct. 1, 2022, and they can be used for storefront repairs, boarding costs, insurance deductibles and business operating expenses, according to the announcement. “Small businesses are a key component to a vibrant community” Economic Development Director Bo Martinez said in a statement. “This grant opportunity is one of several the City has provided over the last few years to help small businesses get through challenging times and start to thrive once again.” Across the city, property crime accounted for nearly 84% of all reported crime last year, according to Long Beach Police Department data. The Boeing Co.’s fortunes for the coming year will rely heavily on its ability to deliver jets from its 737 line in Renton. Boeing (NYSE: BA) plans to deliver at least 400 737s in 2023, along with high targets for its 787 line, despite supplier constraints on both lines that are restricting efforts to increase production. “Boeing’s fortunes right now are going to rely on continued growth at Global Services and improvements at Defense, but the upside is all going to be driven by Commercial,” Richard Safran , a senior aerospace equities analyst for Seaport Global Securities, said of the company’s three main business units. “If you’re investing in Boeing, the commercial story is what’s important.” The targets may well turn out to be “ambitious” but will be necessary if Boeing wants to hike its production rates to 40 or more by early 2024, said Ken Herbert , aerospace and defense analyst for RBC Capital Markets. From building a solid spaghetti tower to a hip design firm, these three millennials are changing the paradigm. Jennifer Perez, Yaileen Obregon and Daniela Purrinos met in grad school. One of the first projects they worked on together was a team-building challenge in a Master of Architecture class at Florida International University. The task was to build a structure with uncooked spaghetti and the women laughed, had fun and dominated the competition. The experience became the basis for their friendship and, eventually, their growing Miami design business. Designing a new blueprint for success “None of us wanted to have a boss,” Perez says. Torchstar brought a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington alleging that a competing seller of the same products, Hyatech, Inc., had basically copied Torchstar’s Amazon sales pages in violation of copyright and other laws. For its part, Hyatech claimed that Torchstar’s sales pages did not qualify for copyright protection and that it was Torchstar that was trying to illegally destroy Hyatech as its competitor through the litigation process. Hyatech asserted a counterclaim against Torchstar claiming that Torchstar had made a false claim of copyright infringement to Amazon including asserting infringement resulting from product images taken by Hyatech’s own photographer. Hyatech also alleged that Torchstar did not register its copyrights with the U.S. Copyright Office until after the litigation commenced. So, to back up for a second, Torchstar sued Hyatech, and Hyatech countersued Torchstar. Nothing unusual to see here, welcome to commercial litigation. But now it gets interesting.
