The Australian Securities and Investments Commission said it’s conducting a “targeted review” of the local derivatives business of Binance , the world’s largest crypto exchange. The review includes Binance’s “classification of retail clients and wholesale clients,” a spokesperson for the regulator said in a statement on Friday. Binance earlier tweeted it had closed the derivatives positions of some Australian users because they were incorrectly classed as wholesale investors. The company said it will compensate affected customers for any losses incurred. In a statement, a Binance representative said 500 users were impacted and that the closure was necessary to comply with local laws. Our team identified a small number of Australian users who were incorrectly classed as ‘Wholesale Investors’ on Binance. Massachusetts business leaders have been ramping up their warnings that a workforce shortage poses a long-term threat to the state’s competitiveness. This includes western Mass, where companies say they need employees. "We are hiring for a whole bunch of nurses, nurse resident and apprenticeship roles. We also have patient care technician positions, security officer roles, plumbers, electricians, transportation type roles. So a whole gamut of positions," Cole Courtemanche, a recruiter with Baystate Health, said at a recent job fair in Greenfield. Baystate is not alone. There are jobs open at nearly any company you can name. A majority of business leaders in enterprises worldwide are unable to use data to make strategic business decisions, according to Salesforce’s Untapped Data Research. Credit: iStock/gorodenkoff Enterprises worldwide are not tapping the potential of their data when making critical business decisions and navigating uncertain macroeconomic conditions, according to a Salesforce survey. Nearly 67% of 10,000 business leaders polled globally are not using data to set pricing in line with economic conditions such as inflation, according to the Untapped Data Research survey. Only 29% of these leaders are using data to set strategy when launching products or services in new markets, and just 17% are using data to achieve their climate goals, according to the survey. Just 21% of the survey respondents said they are using data to make decisions about their company’s diversity goals. The lack of data utilization is happening even though 80% of the leaders said that data is critical to decision making and 73% said that data reduces uncertainties.
