Spencer Cox announced Wednesday that Texas Instruments would create a new semiconductor factory in Lehi, bringing "hundreds of jobs" to the state. The 800 new jobs will have an average salary of $110,000 and Johnson said the area’s highly educated workforce is ready to fill those positions. Introduction Despite the shipping and logistics industry’s reputation as a technology laggard, digital transformation initiatives have deeply penetrated the sector, with product and service improvement as the primary driver. Nearly two-thirds of organizations say they have a digital transformation plan in place, and most others say they’re considering one, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence’s Supply Chain Digital Transformation Enterprise Survey 2023. That aggressive — and surprising — level of digital adoption is among the most notable takeaways from the survey, which asked 500 shippers, logistics service providers and carriers about their technology adoption and projects. The sector’s biggest inhibitor to reaching its ambitious goals is a shortage of people and skills, which can be at least partially overcome through the adoption of digital-enabling technologies such as cloud computing, IoT connectivity and AI/machine-learning analytics. CAIRO – 16 February 2023: Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Amr Talaat said Thursday that the Egyptian government has taken massive strides to a secure smooth digital transformation. MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, February 16 – The U.S. court system is facing a perfect storm of delays, backlogs and workforce shortages, according to new research from the Thomson Reuters Institute. Many courts were propelled into modernizing by the pandemic, however without continued investment in digital transformation they risk falling back on that progress. This is critical as they try to deal with the explosion of digital evidence which is increasingly being presented by law enforcement and lawyers. The State of the Courts Report 2023 interviewed over 200 U.S. judges and court professionals to better understand challenges in the judicial system, specifically around hearings, evidence, caseloads, and the role of technology. “The U.S. justice system is over-burdened and under-resourced. Just as society has been transformed by digital technology, the court system needs to undergo a similar digital revolution to ensure it can effectively keep pace, serve citizens and ensure access to justice,” said Kriti Sharma, chief product officer for Legal Technology at Thomson Reuters.
