B&S Group: Partnering

for Digital Transformation When we talk about digital transformation, we tend to focus on the word “digital,” but truth is, sustainable transformation requires keen business strategy and a human-centered approach to change. Engineers, designers and business strategists need each other. We are proud to bring this mindset to a complex digital transformation project for our client B&S Group, a global distribution company in consumer goods with unparalleled reach across more than 100 countries. The B&S story can be traced back to a small local shipping company that had a big vision for the consumer goods industry. Determined to expand its growth potential, B&S scaled up and grew its product and service portfolio at a rapid pace. Because of their drive to reach beyond the ordinary, they became the global player they are today: a company that excels in making premium consumer goods available to everyone, anywhere. EPAM Continuum helped B&S Group stabilize and improve its eCommerce platform so the company could unify B2B business units in one place, while also clearing space for future growth in direct to consumer (D2C). To make the digital transformation sustainable, we also helped B&S build a central team that could manage the changes […]

And how do you know which ones are worth solving? To answer these questions, I use two different matrixes in context with each other. Utility Matrix for Hotels The utility matrix helps hotels identify significant pain points that need to be solved. Source: Are Morch, Digital Transformation Coach This matrix outlines the customer experience cycle. And hotels need to identify the pain points in each stage. Each stage entails very specific experiences. The insight generated from understanding the pain points within each stage will help hotels identify perceptions that detract customers from value and can be reversed. And it is essential to collaborate with employees, customers, and the community to get a good […]

Village Rhapsody: Digital transformation key to Zimbabwe’s food security

Digital farming The future competitiveness of sub-Saharan Africa’s agriculture and its contribution to national economies will depend on how countries position themselves to utilise and exploit digital technologies. African countries, however, are far from reaching the expected levels of development and are at various phases of the changeover to digital agriculture. It will be necessary to use a bottom-up, all-inclusive strategy to create an effective digital agriculture transformation roadmap. Technologies and innovative farming practices have the potential to enhance the agriculture sector’s productivity and effectiveness. The government of Zimbabwe should recognise the potential in the use of data and ICT-technologies in agriculture development by promotion of digital solutions, especially for young upcoming farmers. Young people interested in the agriculture sector have asked the policy makers to shift from just normal farming and indoctrinate technology in order for them to venture into the sector because many countries are embracing use of ICTs in farming. Young farmers like Nomaliso Musasiwa a young female farmer of Fresh in a Box have bemoaned prolonged power cuts as a threat to the use of technology to boost agricultural activities in Zimbabwe.
