You Need to Incorporate This Overlooked Concept to Supercharge Your Business

You Need to Incorporate This Overlooked Concept to Supercharge Your Business

When putting this one thing into your business strategy, it can be a competitive advantage to help redefine your brand’s positioning. Here’s how to do it. Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own. When someone mentions the term user experience (UX) design to you, do you immediately think of screens and interfaces? Well, that’s part of it, but the subject matter goes way deeper than that. Implemented in the right way, it can even be mission-critical for your business. In this potentially shaky economy, growth shouldn’t be your only mission. Consumer-driven value and the underlying goal to solve deep-rooted and complex user problems are what will stick. It will become necessary to identify the users’ needs before stepping into the market — which is where UX design comes in. Whether you are selling digital products, physical products, services, platforms or anything else, ruthlessly focusing on your users (customers and potential customers) is not optional — it’s a necessity. It is the ultimate de-risker of failure and ensures you thrive even in tough times. Getting real about the term UX Before understanding how UX design can supercharge your business, let’s set the stage on terminology. The term UX design […]

How Social Media Is Changing Business Strategies

How Social Media Is Changing Business Strategies

getty The emergence of social media has birthed a new generation of entrepreneurs who are utilizing the platforms to build thriving businesses, invest in promising ventures and create new opportunities for themselves and others. These individuals are at the forefront of the digital revolution and are transforming the way we perceive success in the modern business world. Here are a few ways in which people are harnessing the power of social media to achieve financial success. One trend that is driving the rise of social media entrepreneurs is the growing influence of social media influencers. These individuals have amassed large followings on various platforms and are able to use their influence to promote products and services to their followers. Many successful influencers have been able to monetize their social media presence through sponsorships, partnerships and other opportunities, and some have even gone on to launch their own businesses or invest in others. For example, social media personality Logan Paul launched Prime Hydration in 2022, and it is already valued between $150 and $200 million . This showcases the power of strong branding, marketing and the ability to identify and meet consumer demand. Another driving trend is the increasing significance […]

Becoming A Customer Company: The New Blueprint For CX-Driven Business Transformation

Becoming A Customer Company: The New Blueprint For CX-Driven Business Transformation

Connecting with customers, their way Photo by charlesdeluvio on Unsplash Companies around the world are making customer experience (CX) the top priority according to Harvard Business Review Analytical Services (HBRAS). But to do so takes more than lip service. To deliver an experience that customers value, you have to 1) know them, 2) organize around their unique expectations throughout their journey, and 3) serve them personally and in real-time. But companies aren’t there yet, not even close. In fact, HBRAS found that only 16% of CX-driven companies have a single (360-degree) view of customers. Even so, they lack the organizational structure to make use of those insights. It’s one thing to say you’re “customer-centered,” it’s entirely different when your company is literally organized around the customer. As customer expectations and behaviors evolve along with times, trends, tastes, and technologies, CX becomes intrinsic to business success. When you consider how the customer experiences your company, what are the key touch points they face in doing business with you? They usually reside in marketing, commerce, and customer service. Most often, those functions, along with corresponding customer data, operate independently. As a result, the customer’s experience is disconnected by design. That’s never […]

Zoom Says Competition and Job Cuts Haven’t Hurt Its Business

Zoom Says Competition and Job Cuts Haven’t Hurt Its Business

Photographer: Gabby Jones/Bloomberg Zoom Video Communications Inc. President Greg Tomb said the collaboration software business has held up in the face of widespread layoffs and competition. The video-conferencing company sells software to industries like tech and finance which have been hit by large layoffs . But because most contracts are long-term, the job cuts haven’t hurt Zoom, Tomb said in an interview with Bloomberg in Davos, Switzerland. “It doesn’t mean people don’t fine-tune here or there when they come up for renewal, but it has not been a big impact,” he said. Tomb acknowledged that the large-business segment can be competitive since other vendors offer similar collaboration tools for free. For example, Microsoft Corp.’s Teams, often bundled with common office tools, has been more widely adopted in recent years. “There probably are some situations where companies are trying to be super cost-conscious and they’re willing to provide a — I’ll call it less product in terms of functionality and capability — because it’s free to their employees,” Tomb said. Still, he said, companies using Zoom rarely quit the platform. After gaining millions of users at the height of the pandemic, Zoom is now trying to reverse slowing growth by […]

Beyond COP15: Securing Business Accountability on Biodiversity

Beyond COP15: Securing Business Accountability on Biodiversity

NORTHAMPTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / January 19, 2023 / The adoption of the Kunming-Montréal Global Biodiversity Framework , signed at the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) last month, is without doubt a major milestone, committing the world to halting and reversing biodiversity loss by 2030. This encouraging outcome is the result of a hard-won journey, after a two-year delay due to the Covid pandemic. The stakes were (and remain) high, as the biodiversity collapse the word is experiencing is now clearly evidenced. The IPBES Global Assessment Report from 2019 highlighted unprecedented decline in biodiversity resulting from human activities: in just a few decades, over 85% of wetlands and about half of coral reefs have been lost; a third of fish stocks are overexploited; and 32 million hectares of forest in highly biodiverse regions – an area almost twice the size of France – has been destroyed. As UN Secretary-General António Guterres bluntly put it at the start of COP15, "humanity has become a weapon of mass extinction with a million species at risk of disappearing forever." Planting the seeds for restoration The Framework, signed by 196 parties including the EU, sets ambitious goals and targets to start addressing the underlying […]
