Bengaluru: The US and India are the leaders in the digital transformation of industries and services globally, finds the Tholons Global Business Innovation Sustainability Index (TBIS) for 2023. These two, together with eight other countries – Canada, UK, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, and Denmark – have been called `Avant Garde’ nations, those who are pioneering and accelerating their leadership in the space. The TBIS report evaluates countries across their business environment (20% weightage), quality of life (20%), the innovation/digital environment (15%), diversity, equity & inclusion – DEI (10%), sustainability (10%), and super cities (25%). The last of these are cities that are currently pivoting to the new requirements – digital transformation, sustainability etc – and the index is based on the number of such cities and their population in a given country. India gets the highest points (10 out of 10) in the `super cities’ category. It also gets above 9 points in business environment and quality of life.
