AI71 Partners with Morocco to Advance Digital Transformation Strategy
At Gitex Global 2024, AI71, a company specializing in AI-driven industry solutions, signed an agreement with Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transformation and Administrative Reform. The collaboration aims to support Morocco’s Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, a national initiative focused on advancing the country’s digital transformation efforts. The agreement was formalized at the Dubai World Trade Center, with the signing conducted by His Excellency Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of the Advanced Technology Research Council, and Her Excellency Ghita Mezzour, the Delegate-Minister in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform. For Africa to meet these development ambitions the African Development Bank (AfDB) informs us that Africa must reach a sustained growth path of at least 7%. Last year Africa recorded a 3.1% growth, which is a deterioration from the 4.1% recorded in the previous year. ‘A big moment’: Poundland extends digital transformation with rewards app launch
Poundland has launched a rewards app, Poundland Perks, as part of a £20m investment as it looks to better understand customers. It comes a year after the retailer launched its first transactional website. The app is being launched after a successful trial carried out in the Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and Scotland, which saw 500,000 sign-ups. Tom Hill, director of digital at Poundland, tells Marketing Week this is a “big moment from a digital transformation perspective”. “This is part of a significant investment in our digital ecosystem, and we’re doing this because we want to help our customers save more,” he says.

Research from Nokia reveals that 60 per cent of CSPs in MEA region are adopting 5G to enhance their digital transformation. While 4G subscriptions are projected to stabilise by 2027, 5G adoption is anticipated to surge dramatically, signifying a pivotal shift in the region’s technological landscape. In addition, Nokia’s Mobile Broadband Index Report 2024 highlights the continued rapid adoption of 5G technology in the region, projecting that by 2029, 5G subscriptions will reach 519 million, with 48 per cent of total data traffic expected to be driven by 5G. 5G is playing a critical role in the region’s future connectivity landscape, with nearly 23 per cent of all mobile subscriptions in the MEA region expected to be 5G by 2029.
