As College Enrollment Numbers Fall, RNL Focuses on Digital Transformation As The Solution

Contributor Enrollment numbers in colleges and institutions of higher learning in the U.S. are falling. This trend has been ongoing for the better part of the last decade but is only now becoming glaring. According to the World Economic Forum , 4 million fewer people in America enrolled for college in 2022 than ten years ago. The pandemic further accelerated this decline, causing a 10% decline in college applications between 2019 and 2022. However, a survey of these students choosing to forego a college degree shows that nearly 50% of them felt that it took too long to acquire a degree and didn’t see an adequate return on the time and investment demanded. This is probably why only 37.1% of 25 to 44-year-olds have a bachelor’s degree in the U.S. In today’s world, It has become essential for colleges to refine their strategies to attract and retain more students and to meet their enrollment goals.
