Cargill adopts AI and analytics for digital transformation

Cargill uses intelligence from data analytics to improve the efficiency of tankers it operates (source: Cargill) The global commodities group is expanding its use of data analysis and artificial intelligence to improve efficiency in its ocean transport business Cargill is accelerating the digital transformation in its maritime operations by using artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics. The commodities trader, which operates ships to transport products to global markets, is extending its use of software, programs and analytics to gain greater operational insights to improve efficiency and sustainability. To reach these targets, Cargill has expanded its long-standing partnership with Veson Nautical. Cargill currently uses Veson’s IMOS platform and will add AI-enabled collaborative workflow solution Shipfix as part of its broad technology ecosystem. “This partnership allows us to integrate our systems more seamlessly, providing customers a unified platform that enhances visibility, efficiency and control over their freight procurement processes,” said Cargill strategy and digitalisation lead in its ocean transport business, Eric Aboussouan.
