A comprehensive report by Google reveals that the company’s digital services generated approximately $900 million in economic value for Kenya in 2023. The analysis highlights the significant contributions of various Google services, including Search, YouTube, Google Cloud, Advertising, Android, and Google Play, to the country’s economic landscape. The report’s findings underscore the multiplicative economic impact of technological investment, suggesting that each dollar allocated to technology could potentially return over five dollars to the broader economy by 2030. Google Search emerged as the most influential tool, facilitating digital skill development for approximately 300,000 young adults. “Google Search, Google Play, Android, YouTube, Google Cloud and Google Advertising helped provide an estimated $900 million of economic activity for businesses, non-profits, publishers, creators and developers across Kenya in 2023,” the report reads.
