The digitization will greatly help the cross checks as well as the clearances that currently take up to six to 10 years. It will also contribute to the acquisition of critical data for the faster granting of sailors’ pensions. The procedure currently applied is extremely laborious, while the digital operation will help avoid bureaucracy for the shipping companies and the workers on the ships.
