Digital Transformation and SDG: Challenges and Opportunities for Bangladesh

Building on the momentum of its previous sessions, UNOPS Bangladesh hosted another triumphant session of the SDG Cafe on August 13, 2023. Held at the UNOPS Bangladesh Office, the event welcomed distinguished guests, including government, development sector, and private sector representatives, who engaged in enlightening discussions under the theme "Digital Transformation and SDG: Challenges and Opportunities for Bangladesh." Eminent Prof Syed Munir Khasru, Chairman of the Institute for Policy, Advocacy, and Governance (IPAG), graced the event as the keynote speaker. Prof Khasru’s thought-provoking insights highlighted the intricate relationship between digital transformation and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on SDGs 9 and 17. He mentioned, “Although Bangladesh has made much progress on SDGs, there are key areas where the country can do even better, especially in innovation and industrialization.” His expertise shed light on the potential for technology-driven solutions to tackle challenges and leverage opportunities for a more sustainable Bangladesh.
