Ministry: Bedil to accelerate digital transformation in tourism sector

The program is a part of the ministry’s efforts to take advantage of the number of Internet users in Indonesia, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, said in a statement released on Thursday. According to data from We Are Social, the number of Internet users in Indonesia stood at 212.9 million as of January 2023, with Internet penetration was recorded at 77 percent. "The value of the digital economy in Indonesia in 2022 reached US$77 billion. This figure places Indonesia as the country with the highest digital economy value in ASEAN," he said. Bedil is an assistance program for supporting digital transformation at five super-priority tourism destinations (DPSPs).
