Cambodian SMEs, policies for supporting their digital transformation

Image by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung In accordance with a study from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), over half of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) increased their use of digital tools during the pandemic, and more than two-thirds expect the changes to be permanent. A pace increase in the race toward digital transformation has happened also in Cambodia, but the difficulty in finding experts, and funding, has highlighted an overall difficulty for companies to cope with the process. In a study published by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in cooperation with EuroCham Cambodia it was highlighted how across sectors Cambodian organizations realize the importance of data, but at the same time, feel not ready for an effective digital transformation of their business processes. It is established that digital technologies are essential for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with examples like artificial intelligence, IoT, cloud computing and data analytics having represented change makers for its users.
