PIDI 4.0 expediting digital transformation of industries: Minister

(ANTARA/HO Kementerian Perindustrian) Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita on Saturday said that the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Digital Center (PIDI 4.0) was built to support the acceleration of industrial transformation 4.0, or the digital transformation of industries. "To support national priority programs and accelerate industrial transformation 4.0, the Industry Ministry has built the Indonesia Industry 4.0 Digital Center (PIDI 4.0)," he highlighted here. To prepare Indonesia to face the Industry 4.0 era, the government has launched the "Making Indonesia 4.0" road map, which focuses on seven manufacturing sectors. The seven sectors comprise food and beverage, textile and clothing, automotive, chemicals, electronics, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. The seven sectors contribute 70 percent to the industrial GDP, 65 percent to industrial exports, and absorb 60 percent of the industrial workforce in Indonesia. PIDI 4.0 offers many strategic programs, such as human resource (HR) training, which has been attended by thousands of participants. PIDI 4.0 also showcases Industry 4.0 products, such as disruptive technologies like AI (artificial intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things), for the 4.0 ecosystem development in Indonesia.
