Nike Inc. has named a new leader for its women’s business. Amy Montagne, who is currently vice president and general manager of Asia, Pacific, Latin America for the company, will transition to vice president and general manager of women’s, replacing Whitney Malkiel, who has decided to leave Nike (NYSE: NKE), the company said. Cathy Sparks, currently vice president, Nike Direct, Europe, Middle East and Africa, will transition to Montagne’s former role. The changes are effective March 13. “These changes will further build on our strengths and underscore our commitment to accelerate our women’s business, invest in our geographies, and further grow our top talent,” said Heidi O’Neill, president of consumer and marketplace. Montagne is an 18-year Nike veteran. She held previous global vice president-level roles in men’s, global women’s and merchandising. She also held positions of increasing responsibility in North America, running, women’s training and sportswear.
