CARLSBAD Memory care building opens at residence Oakmont Senior Living has opened Villena — a Traditions Memory Care building — at Santianna, its luxury senior community. Villena will accommodate residents with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The new facility will allow families to transition their loved ones from independent and assisted living to memory care if needed. Villena’s two stories include 67 memory-care apartment homes plus a movie theater, activity rooms and outdoor courtyards. Programming is designed for residents with memory loss or cognitive impairment. Residents also have access to virtual reality programs that help brain function and memory recall.
